Piala Dunia 2010

Australia Beat New Zealand

In another test match in Melbourne, Brett Holman scored during injury time to bring Australia beat New Zealand 2-1. The AZ Alkmaar midfielder scored the winner after Dario Vidosic equalized 57 minutes'. New Zealand could lead through Chris Killen in the 16th minute.

"It was not our best performance, but winning is still a good result," Holman said incoming second-half substitute Everton midfielder Tim Cahill. "At least it adds confidence before competing in South Africa," he continued.

Reading goalkeeper Adam Federici melakoni debut in this match following the absence of major home club Fulham goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer. Australia is also not yet confirmed Harry Kewell, Brett Emerton, Luke Wilkshire, Scott Chipperfield and Josh Kennedy because of injuries.

Australia will start in the Group D game against Germany on June 13, while New elandia will meet Slovakia in the first match of Group F, June 15 next.
